When representing you on a Traffic Ticket, we have two primary goals in mind: (1) to see if it is possible to keep the DMV from suspending your license; and (2) to see how many insurance points can be saved.
Traffic Ticket law seems geared more towards raising revenue for the State and insurance company rather than deterring dangerous behavior.
Keep in mind that it's better to hire a lawyer to take care of a ticket on a regularly scheduled court date rather than to miss that court date, because not only can that cause a license suspension, but also the State of North Carolina has recently increased Failure to Appear fees to $200 per citation, in addition to any fine or court costs owed.
